Colette Carlson
Colette Carlson, MA, comes to the platform with over 20 years of experience. After spending 7 years as a top-notch administrative assistant, she found the courage to leave the safety net of a monthly paycheck and step out into the realm of a bold, commission-only sales livelihood. Her high-flying success led to an opportunity to join sales guru Brian Tracy’s international organization. Mastering these sales strategies led her to become the premier, national sales trainer for US West.
Her sales experience, coupled with being married and raising two teenage daughters, led her to question, “Is there a method to this madness?” The result, a master’s degree in human behavior, which still managed to leave some questions unanswered.
Today, Colette brings every lesson, module, technique and real-life experience to her role as a nationally-recognized motivational speaker on communication and balance. Her book, Speak Your Truth, is due out in 2009. She is a contributing author to the book, Conversations on Success, and writes a monthly column, “Tactfully Speaking,” for the National Institute of Business Publications.
Today, as a woman business owner, Colette recognizes that every day is the perfect day to begin to think it, speak it and live it!

Special Guest Presenters
Rodney & Colleen Yee
As a gymnast, a ballet dancer, and a philosophy and physical therapy major, Rodney Yee has always been curious about the mind and body. Following the thread of curiosity, Rodney took his first yoga class in 1980 in search of flexibility and found a practice that would turn into his life-long passion and career. In 1981, Rodney began to study yoga full-time at the San Francisco Iyengar Yoga Institute and at The Yoga Room in Berkeley. In 1987, after becoming a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, he opened the Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland, California, with Richard Rosen and Claire Finn. Rodney has been featured in over 30 Gaiam DVDs and yoga audio and has written two books, Yoga: the Poetry of the Body and Moving Toward Balance: 8 Weeks of Yoga with Rodney Yee, both in collaboration with Nina Zolotow.
Colleen Saidman’s introduction to yoga was at the urging of a roommate who convinced her to attend a class. It was not long after that first class that her worn out running shoes and boxing gloves became relics of the past. In 1994, after enduring back surgery, Colleen’s commitment to her yoga practice deepened. Colleen graduated from Jivamukti’s Teacher Training program in 1998 and has been teaching yoga ever since. She has been featured in The New York Times and New York Magazine, and has graced the cover of Yoga Journal. Colleen holds a certification in Shiatsu and lived in Calcutta, India, working with Mother Theresa at the Home of the Destitute and Dying. Colleen owes tremendous gratitude for her studies of bhakti and vinyasa to David Life and Sharon Gannon. She also offers thanks to the many other teachers with whom she has studied, including Rodney Yee. Colleen owns and teaches at Yoga Shanti Yoga Studio in Sag Harbor, New York.
In addition to teaching at Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor, Rodney and Colleen Yee lead teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats all over the world. Together they created and present the online Gaiam Yoga Club, and are the yoga directors of the health and wellness initiative for Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation. Rodney and Colleen are married and live together in Long Island, New York, where they raise and are being raised by their four children, Evan, Adesha, Rachel, and Johanna.
