Bottled Water and Essential Oils

Water, water everywhere ~ how pure is the water you are drinking?  Do you realize how important water is for the functioning of your organs, for digesting your food and even for the life of your cells?

Water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen, with the chemical formula of H2O and is a vital ingredient for life’s existence. From Wikipedia:

Much of the universe’s water may be produced as a byproduct of star formation. When stars are born, their birth is accompanied by a strong outward wind of gas and dust. When this outflow of material eventually impacts the surrounding gas, the shock waves that are created compress and heat the gas. The water observed is quickly produced in this warm dense gas.[15]

Water has been detected in interstellar clouds within our galaxy, the Milky Way. Water probably exists in abundance in other galaxies, too, because its components, hydrogen and oxygen, are among the most abundant elements in the universe. Interstellar clouds eventually condense into solar nebulae and solar systems such as ours.

From a biological standpoint, water has many distinct properties that are critical for the proliferation of life that set it apart from other substances. It carries out this role by allowing organic compounds to react in ways that ultimately allow replication. All known forms of life depend on water. Water is vital both as a solvent in which many of the body’s solutes dissolve and as an essential part of many metabolic processes within the body. Metabolism is the sum total of anabolism and catabolism. In anabolism, water is removed from molecules (through energy requiring enzymatic chemical reactions) in order to grow larger molecules (e.g. starches, triglycerides and proteins for storage of fuels and information). In catabolism, water is used to break bonds in order to generate smaller molecules (e.g. glucose, fatty acids and amino acids to be used for fuels for energy use or other purposes). Water is thus essential and central to these metabolic processes. Therefore, without water, these metabolic processes would cease to exist, leaving us to muse about what processes would be in its place, such as gas absorption, dust collection, etc.

Water is also central to photosynthesis and respiration. Photosynthetic cells use the sun’s energy to split off water’s hydrogen from oxygen. Hydrogen is combined with CO2 (absorbed from air or water) to form glucose and release oxygen. All living cells use such fuels and oxidize the hydrogen and carbon to capture the sun’s energy and reform water and CO2 in the process (cellular respiration).

Water is also central to acid-base neutrality and enzyme function. An acid, a hydrogen ion (H+, that is, a proton) donor, can be neutralized by a base, a proton acceptor such as hydroxide ion (OH) to form water. Water is considered to be neutral, with a pH (the negative log of the hydrogen ion concentration) of 7. Acids have pH values less than 7 while bases have values greater than 7.

A huge factor in being healthy is consuming lots of pure, toxin-free, water.  If you are drinking bottled water, you are drinking petrochemical toxins and you are harming yourself!  People in the U.S. buy more than half a billion gallons of bottled water every WEEK. That’s a lot of water, a lot of plastic bottles, and a big part of our everyday lives.  Check out this video and discover that it requires oil to create water bottles, that filtered tap water has been bottled and labeled for your consumer dollars and other important facts!

The human body is anywhere from 55% to 78% water depending on body size.[34] To function properly, the body requires between one and seven liters of water per day to avoid dehydration; the precise amount depends on the level of activity, temperature, humidity, and other factors. Most of this is ingested through foods or beverages other than drinking straight water. It is not clear how much water intake is needed by healthy people, though most advocates agree that 6–7 glasses of water (approximately 2 liters) daily is the minimum to maintain proper hydration.

Did you know that water is also crucial for our body to be able to cleanse itself internally, through our kidney’s, intestines and normal elimination processes, but also through breathing and perspiration?

There is a natural solution to purifying your water as well as enhancing the amount of oxygen in your water by adding the benefits of aromatherapy in the form of therapeutic grade essential oils to your water!  These oils are natural chelators of toxins, so you must be sure to use a glass when adding our oils to your water, otherwise you will be drinking chemical soup!  One of the benefits of adding therapeutic grade essential oils to your water, is that they will help your body eliminate toxins, petroleum residues, metals and other harmful substances – all naturally.

Lemon essential oil is a wonderful purifying agent.  Just add one drop to 8 oz of water and enjoy a refreshing, revitalizing and healthy drink!  Did you know it takes 3,000 lemons to produce 1 kilo of essential oil?  Lemon oil has been documented to kill meningococcus bactera in just 15 minutes by Dr. Jean Valnet, and to kill typhoid bacilli in just one hour, Staphylococcus aureus in two hours and Pneumococcus bacteria within three hours!  Lemon has also been used to cleanse the skin, reduce wrinkles and acne.  I also use Lemon mixed with purified water in a spray bottle to clean my organic vegetables.  Just inhaling the aroma of Lemon essential oil will boost your emotions and bring joy to your life!   Therapeutic grade Lemon essential oil contains a molecule called Limonene, 59-73%, which has been proven to reverse cancer cells so I recommend ingesting Lemon on a regular basis as a preventative measure.

Lemon essential oil is also used as a wellness solution for circulatory issues, arteriosclerosis, obesity, parasites, urinary tract infections, varicose veins, relieving anxiety and hypertension, and digestive issues.  The fragrance of lemon essential oil was also found to increase mental accuracy and concentration by University researchers in Japan.  And a 1995 MIE University study found that citrus fragrances boosted immunity, induced relaxation and reduced depression.  Lemon also prevents cellular mutation and enhances DNA repair (Reddy et al., 1998) as well as helping to retain an alkaline environment in the digestive system.

Another wonderful choice of oils to add to your water is Orange therapeutic grade essential oil which contains 85-96% of the molecule Limonene.  The aroma of Orange oil always makes me happy and I love knowing that I am being proactive in my health care by ingesting this oil every day.  Orange oil has also been studied for its ability to inhibit tumor growth in over 50 clinical studies.

My third choice of oils to add to my water is Grapefruit therapeutic grade essential oil which contains 88-95% Limonene.  Grapefruit oil is a wonderful metabolic stimulant, antiseptic, detoxifier, and for those with cellulite, Grapefruit is a wonderful fat-dissolver!  It also helps the liver to function properly.

Another choice is Tangerine therapeutic grade essential oil which is also rich in Limonene at 85-93%!  The aroma of Tangerine promotes happiness as well as boosts the immune system and it has been used for circulatory and digestive issues.

And for a wonderful pick-me-up, add just a touch of Peppermint therapeutic grade essential oil to 8 oz of purified water!  I recommend using just a little bit since our Peppermint is very concentrated; here’s a tip: insert a toothpick into the top of the Peppermint oil bottle and then swish it around in your glass of water.  You can always add more to your liking!  Peppermint is wonderful to ingest for digestive issues as well as liver and respiratory diseases (Jean Valnet, M.D.).  Did you know that just inhaling this oil can increase your mental accuracy by 28%?  (Dr. William N. Dember, University of Cincinnati)  Peppermint oil can also help you to reduce excess weight because of its ability to stimulate the brain’s satiety center in the hypothalamus (Alan Hirsch, MD) as well as restoring the sense of taste because it stimulates the trigeminal nerve.  Peppermint is also very effective in eliminating headaches (University of Kiel).

And if you like the mint family, Spearmint is also a very refreshing therapeutic grade essential oil to add to your drinking water which has also been shown to increase metabolism and soothe digestive issues.

With the recent oil spill in the Gulf, we must look at our own bodies and the water within our bodies ~ are we polluting ourselves?  I would say yes, the majority of humans on this planet are polluting themselves – as above, so below.  Mother Earth is showing us through her own body how we are each contributing to the current chemical and toxic reality that humans have created.  The plants have been here for millions of years, evolving and ever-changing and are ready to help us shift our consciousness as well as purify our minds and our bodies.

I invite you to purchase therapeutic grade Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Peppermint and Spearmint essential oils today and have fun experimenting with them as you add them to your water to restore health and well-being, add much needed oxygen to your cells, and detoxify and cleanse your internal water!
